Help with energy bill

Hi all, I would really appreciate some help. I'm with a variable tariff for gas and elec, statement says £2100 a year, fixed are all more expensive right now, I pay £165 a month direct debit. Readings last submitted on 17.02.2022, account was approx -£500 in debit then. Submitted updated readings today and account has jumped to £2002 in debit?! Not sure what or why this is? Is this a reflection of the annual estimate, it cannot be actual usage, could I have submitted incorrect elec readings? It did say your readings seem too low, double check them before submitting etc. Thank you

Can you post a photo of the meters and say what you think the reading are? Then somebody can check if you are reading it correctly.

Some meters can be very difficult to read - on modern ones watch out for the decimal point ; does yours have a small keypad ? Old ones with clock dials that go in opposite directions.
Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill
