    • (only an estimate as Octopus haven't published rates yet)

wow, those hikes are nasty!...Nastier than the 54% avg increase

People are going to be in for a real shock in a few weeks time....

Next month is going to be horrific for so many, especially for those on the min wage who'll have to fork out 40 pounds plus extra on their £8.91 an hour salary....they won't receive the increased wages until the end of April!

I'm suddenly even more glad I grabbed an Octopus fix, with both hands, the other day.

The rise always depends what tariff you are coming off. I am currently fixed until the end of May at £0.165 kWh for electricity (electric only), my increase when I come off that and go onto the post April SVR is going to be around 90%.

Same here, I wasn't expecting to feel happy about being on the February Loyal fix quite this quickly, but I certainly didn't hang around once I had the option to lock it in for a start in the middle of April. (Gas only though, on TEP for electric)

I assume I'm better off staying on Flexible at the moment? Confused 😬

Wow those prices are definitely a hike, pushing close to 50p a unit electricity (!).

I fixed this week with Loyal Octopus for 12 months, I scheduled it to start from the 1st of April.

    My rates were:

    Elec unit charge 33.51p/kWh

    Elec S/C: 24.03p per day

    Gas unit charge: 8.81p/kWh

    Gas S/C 26.10 per day

I used to be fixed but the contract ended as the 12 months were up, I'm currently on Flexible until 1st April.

Like most people, I followed the "Martin Lewis" advice to not fix but in light of the Ukraine/Russia situation, and the fact that the offer was only open until the 1st March, I thought I'd lock the rates in for some certainty.

Sometimes I feel a bit of buyers' remorse! Am I ever right in feeling so?!

I'm based in the South East, and annual usage figures according to bill are E: 3209 kWh and G: 4773kWh, if anyone wishes to provide some insight.
