repaying direct payments

my son gets a direct payment on the latest monitoring of bank statements the powers that be have decided what i spent some of the money on was not authorised so they want it paying back. The amount is clearly covering more than one thing but it isnt itemised. Can i dispute this ? how do i go about it many thanks for your help

You can ask them for a full breakdown of what exactly you need to repay and why, which i would advise you to do before thinking of disputing this. For Direct Payments you must only use the money to pay for things listed in the care plan.
