British Gas Scam?

I've just received the expected email from British Gas advising of increases in fuel prices from 1st April, giving a comparison between my current Tariff and the proposed new tariff.

They had got my current tariff wrong. I contacted them to query this as the email was more expensive and indicated my current was variable, despite my account showing a different set of figures, fixed and tariff name!

They could not find my old tariff, so have switched me to an alternative that is SIGNIFICANTLY cheaper than my old one. Interestingly, my old tariff was the one I was set up on when I was 'ported in' following my old provider going bump, and all the info stated I would be moved to their cheapest available tariff!

So I have been 'robbed', or attempted to be twice!!

To add insult to injury they cannot currently offer me a fixed price tariff post 1st April, unlike other suppliers

I wouldn't say you've been robbed, you've done rather well.

Perhaps you worded it wrongly.
