UK DEC Ukrainian Appeal - Donation multipliers - NatWest Rewards
Hello Everyone,
At present if you donate your NatWest Rewards to the 'Dec Ukrainian Appeal' you have the option to GiftAid (+25% if you are a UK taxpayer), NatWest will match your donation (up to £1M total matches until the 30th of March). In addition the UK Government are matching donations to this appeal up to a total of £20M (note that this states from the public so it is not clear if they will match the NatWest donation). If these all stack though, not confirmed, then potentially an initial contribution of £1 * 1.25 * 2 * 2 = £5.
If they don't stack then you're still seeing a minimum of:
£1 + £1 = £2 with the NatWest match and no GiftAid
£1 * 1.25 + £1 = £2.25 if you can use GiftAid
£1 * 1.25 * 2 = £2.50 if NatWest match the GiftAid.
etc with various options for Government matching up to £5 per reward £1 donation
At present the Ukrainians need all the help that they can get. Even if all of these factors don't stack together at least some will and it makes sense to get the biggest impact from our charitable donations as possible.
I've made my donation using this approach as it will at least secure some of the match funding from NatWest which I expect is less well known than the UK Governments offer. However if someone could confirm this or find a more effective approach it could help others to channel their donations and help the people of the Ukraine.
Kind regards,
srbm
