Morning, hugs if you need one.
Its like the middle of a bad winter here the light levels are so low, have the lights on! At least we have not got any snow!!
Gers enjoy your trip to Germany, I am sure you will have a brilliant catch up time, with lots of memories.
My thoughts on the Putin situation are not for publication, The man is mad, the sooner they get rid of him the better.
Its very dull and damp, gardener is due this afternoon, the ground is so wet its like puddled clay. There is some cutting back he can do.
I have towels in the wash, they will have to go in the dryer, fortunately it does not take too long to dry them. Looking at ways to save power, the dryer is exempt.
Its fish and chip night. Judging by todays paper fish and chips shops will be priced out of the market, with everything they use going up in price, people will not be able to afford a fish and chip supper. I cook my own, but I guess the price for the raw materials will go up, so it will no longer be a meal reasonable to afford, even cooking it myself. No dessert, after the excesses of the week we need to cut back.9 -
Thanks nmlc for the start.Gers and Coxy enjoy your trips to see family, and Camelot with DGD.Snoozer good news about Steve's endoscopy.TA, sadly no my shopping didn't turn up, and no response other than an acknowledgment email
.
I did stock up on veg at the market and put it in my wally trolley & practically had to heave it onto the bus home.. Had a good chat with the lovely chap who owns the stall, saying the menfolk eat the minimum veg, though DS will have salad, so I don't need a box delivering each week.He understood and said just order as many deliveries or as few as I need, it's fine. DGS saw the celeriac I bought & it nearly freaked him out as it looked like it had a spooky faceI am going to attempt to take in a top I bought in a rush & didn't try on, it's a baggy style but I don't need to be quite so enveloped
, but I love the colour and material. We are going into Manchester tomorrow and I'd quite like to wear it if I succeed.
Take care all x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)15 -
Morning everyone
Grey and wet here this morning - the landscaper is meant to be coming today to do the work on my back garden and fix the shed but I don't know if he will when it's raining. There's no hurry though.
Feeling quite fed up today. I managed Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons at work just fine and felt ok afterwards. However yesterday I was exhausted, my head and my whole body was aching. So I'm not going in today, I'm feeling very disappointed that I haven't 'managed ' as well as I thought I would.
Camelot - enjoy your sleepover tonight
Gers - safe journey, enjoy your trip
TA - hope you had a fun night with your grand daughters, enjoy your shopping trip
Scarlet - have fun with your little guest
Coxy - hope your dad is ok, enjoy Cyprus - quite jealous of warmth and sunshine
Redruby - have a good day off
Snoozer - good news about Steve
Bellabella - you'll be so glad when your house is sorted
Izzy - someone who know about Ipads might can restore it to previous settings and get info back?
Csarina - I read about fish getting too expensive for people to be able to afford a fish supper
I think, for the first time ever, I've managed to reply to everyone - apologies if I've missed you out....it took me a while to write this!
Hope everyone has a good day. take care x15 -
Hello all, the sun is out but it's now gotten colder, why can't we have a warm and dry day now and again ?
Today I need to do a clothes wash as the basket is nearly full, may even put it out on the whirly for a while. I have to order Dad's meds today and also check up on my mine which haven't arrived, Mr Fix It had his on Wed ( different GP's ) so I expect I'll get the run around between pharmacy and surgery again. The radiator brush that Dad brought is too thick and fluffy to go down the fins ! Do I give it a haircut or wet it ? 🤔 I had salt & vinegar battered fish strips and chips for tea last night, mmm delicious 😋 himself had breaded chicken and on the menu tonight is bacon, egg and sausages etc.
Gers enjoy your trip to Germany and your catch up with relatives.
Coxy hope your visit to see your Dad goes well. Safe journey.
Bella I'm glad the builders are back to do your roof, it will be so good to have it finished.
dp1 please look after yourself and take more time to get well if you need it.
Rosy there was a photo on our local Faceache site showing full shopping crates sitting on the grass verge in the village, seems they belonged to Te*co too ! Someone else didn't get all their order either it seems. Hope you can get it sorted asap.
Izzy Ooops ! You are not alone as deleting the wrong stuff is something I do too, it's so annoying when you can't get it back either.
RedRuby I think you can come off the naughty step now you have the MOT sorted.
Sorry I have brain freeze this morning and have forgotten what others have said so please forgive me.
Take care all, hugs to the poorly ones their families and animals.
nan xxFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently12 -
Just popped back to say I have two men busy in my garden - what an improvement already. They're going to leave the jet washing till one morning next week as the rain is getting heavier - that's fine with me.
DD sent me a cute picture of little one as little red riding hood for nursery his morning.
My niece was at mam and dad's too so had a nice chat and I did dad's banking.
Just having some lunch the I have some admin jobs to do x

TA, I thought I'd missed your birthday as well!
You were saying about the tv news, I haven't watched it for nearly 2 years, since shortly after the first lockdown started. I was obsessive about it because of Covid, and I became really frightened and quite distraught sometimes and quite depressed, so I stopped watching.
I have Radio 4 on all day though, always have had, and hear all the news, also read a daily newspaper online every day. Oddly, it doesn't seem to affect me so badly, don't know why.
Glad Steve is ok Snoozer9 -
Afternoon all. Late one from me today and I haven't any excuses either! I know I've been busy, but what have I done? Sometimes I think a lot of stuff just gets done on auto pilot so it doesn't really register.
It's been drizzling on and off all day here and there's been no sun at all. No wind either so it's going to be reluctant to leave any time soon. I hate having the lights on during the day but needs must.
I enjoyed yesterday's visit to the sheep shearer and now look respectable again, visits to the PO and CS accomplished too. I've done a whites wash this morning but haven't even attempted to put it out, thanks to the constant drizzle. Never mind, it will be fine on the airer overnight and should be dry by morning.
As from Monday, ITV's teatime weekday news will apparently be an hour long instead of half an hour. I'm not sure of the reasoning behind it but I'm wondering what they will fill that hour with. If it's more depressing stuff then I'll be giving it a miss. I'm another one who has the radio on most of the day so I'll not be missing anything anyway.
Next week's meal plan is yet to be done but I have a rough idea of what we'll be having so it shouldn't take too long. Hopefully I'll only need to buy fresh milk and some more potatoes next week as I'm pretty well stocked up at the moment. Tonight we're having fish pie (topped with mashed potato not pastry) and peas. It's all ready to pop in the oven and I'll fill up the spaces with something, probably a pizza from the freezer and a couple more jacket spuds.I’m so sorry to hear Mr F’s leg is still painful Florenceem and hope all goes well for the biopsy.
Have lovely trips Gers and Coxy, I’m sure you’re both looking forward to seeing loved ones again.
Good to hear Steve’s endoscopy went well, snoozer.
IzzyBee - Happy Birthday to Mr Izzy.
Deleted_User - We used to have a fish & chip supper every Friday but haven’t had one for about two years now. I sometimes do my own but the beef dripping is hard to get hold of and expensive. I’m afraid oil just doesn’t cut it for us, we prefer the proper Yorkshire way.
Shame about the top RosyRed, I hope the alternation works out OK.
Don’t be too hard on yourself dp1, you’re doing your best and it takes time to get back to “normal”.
The weekend is almost here so let's hope for better weather, news and so on. Take care all. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.7 -
Been to World Day of Prayer service today - Mr F came - he has to do a PCR test tomorrow morning and get it in the post then stay in isolation.
