As title.
The photos are from multiple family and friends "contacts", from all over the world, in WhatsApp.
The mobile fone is a Samsung android.
I would like to collect them, all together in one file, in my Google Photos app file with other photos I have taken.
Thank you to all responders.

As above.my Whatsapp photos are automaticlly saved in my gallery , in my case (Xiaomi phone) under albums/other albums/whatsappimages1

Your photos from whatever source - camera, WhatsApp, other apps - should appear automatically in the gallery. If they don't then you're doing something wrong. The Google Photo app thing is basically just a viewer, Android keeps track of where photos are and where they've been added, Photos just hooks into it and shows you all those pictures.2

On my phone (moto g31, Android 11) ...Photos appLibrary (bottom right)WhatsApp Images1

Open WhatsApp - Settings - Chats - Chat settings- Make sure 'Media Visibility' is toggled on. This should store your photos in a WhatsApp album in photos.

You can also connect your phone to a PC/laptop, find the pictures through File Explorer, then move them to a folder of your choosing. I put all mine from Whatsapp into a 'Family Pics' folder on my phone (backed up on Laptop), then I can delete the dregs from Whatsapp.1

To save pics on Google Photos, as opposed to just view them there, you might need to check that you have the Whatsapp folder enabled in Back up & Sync on the Google Photos app, via Photos settings > Back up & Sync > Back up device folders > Select Whatsapp folder. I think it may be disabled by default.1

Not an Android user so may be totally different but I don't have WhatsApp set to automatically save photos to my photo library but if you long touch a photo it brings up the menu of which one option is Save which adds it to the library.1
