British Gas jumping the gun on new tarriff?

My fixed rate ended in December - I shifted to the standard tarriff, (approx 20p/kwh) then in February this went up to 27.675p - which, according to Marrtin's video this morning , is the new capped rate from1st April - Have BG jumped the gun and started charging early?

Suppliers have to give 30 days notice of a price change. A lot of these notifications are being misinterpreted as an actual rise. The rate will change on April 1st.
