prepay meters

im with british gas with the old prepay meter.if i load up my meter and key to the max,what would happen if i changed address and stayed with brittish gas.would they install me the new type meter which would charge me the higher tariff.

    I'm pretty sure the key is specific to the meter isn't it? If so, it wouldn't work to load credit onto any other meter. Also you can't "change address and stay with British Gas" - you first need to set up an account with the existing supplier to the property - once that is all in place you can then return to BG if you wanted to via a switch.

    The dodge around the new prices is only going to work as long as you stay at the same address and keep the same meter..
