Finally got my account set up with Shell but why the standing charge way beyond the April price cap?
Good evening,
I originally created this account to ask if others have had issues getting their account set up with Shell when they were moved there from Green. I had to email them several times and ended up chatting to them through twitter for two weeks but they found my account, yay! It was lost or stuck in the process somehow. It turns out I have been on a standard tariff (rather than economy7) since I was switched in September so it's a good thing I was very prudent with my usage and was too scared to heat the house! They have offered to switch it back now.
Now I have got an account number so that's good but is it right that the standing charge in April will be 57p? I saw Martin's video and he's saying the cap is 47p. That's 10p more a day.
Has anyone had the same news?
Thank you very much

The comments you see from Martin and others all use a national average figure, usually based on DD payment and a single rate tariff.Your actual figures will depend on which region you are in and the payment method you choose, as well as being on a single rate or multi-rate tariff, so for example, if you are in the South Western region and have a standard credit account instead of DD, and a single rate tariff, your standing charge could be as high as £0.578...1
