Barclay card problem

in Credit cards
Back in May i went over my £350 credit limit with Barclaycard and was charged £12. I contacted them and changed the charge to £6, which I paid plud the minium balance.
About that time I moved house and set up a direct debit or £10 per month to pay off the minimum balance.
My mail stopped being forwarded from my old address and I forgot to update my address Barclaycard.
I called them today to find out the balance on my account is well over £500. Obivously the card has not been used for a long time.
Their customer service said that the extra £150+ is made up of charges since apprently my DD did not cover the minimum payment.
They tell that I now need to pay £38 per month on this, which I cannot afford with all my other commitments.
What should I do next?

Is there a reason why you cannot afford the £38 a month repayments?Gone ... or have I?0

I probably can but with my other debts which I pay off monthly it doesn't leave me in a favourable position.
I would go about claiming the charges back but then they will cancel the card and pass on the debt to collection agency0 -
You specified above they charged you £12 for going over the limit, which in itself is within the OFT's guidelines for Credit Card charges, assuming the following charges were also at the same level you may not have the option to reclaim the charges0
