Conveyancing

I bought my first house in the 1980s and did the conveyancing myself. I used Michael Joseph’s the Conveyancing Fraud but poor Michael is no longer with us.
The sellers solicitor did not like it but as we lived next door it turned out ok. When we moved again some years later I used a friends solicitor who made a right pigs ear of it but as has been mentioned below it is much more complicated now with money laundering rules etc and the increased chance of fraud makes it a nightmare and so I will use a friendly and recommended lawyer just to be safe.
it is just too stressful if you are not doing it all the time.
it’s still a fraud though.

What's a fruad? Fraud is a crime that has cost mortgage lenders millions.

To make sense of the post you need to understand that Michael Joseph's book (updated 1994) was called "The conveyancing Fraud".
I used it myself back in the day. Excellent book, but of its time.
