EDF rogue DD

I was  transferred to EDF following the demise of GNE.

I have just had my 6-monthly review - as expected a minor tweak in DD from April. - as I'm in credit (just) and a Sept 24 fix

As a bonus EDF has thrown in an extra DD in March - £12886.81      Chat is investigating.

I am also a EDF consumer following Zog's demise and that is equally challenging.

Was I being naive is expecting EDF to be efficient ?
After all they are a big company and must have good  IT must they and a good IT would catch rogue bills wouldn't it ?

When the migrate to the Octopus Kraken system they might.

I suspect their present system is a bit like the big banks, that have legacy mainframe systems, dating back half a century, with new bits tacked on, that nobody dare fiddle with for fear of the whole edifice crashing to the ground.

You guessed - and the underfloor is set to max, thrown out the LEDs and put the Halogens back ...................... and rented out the attic to a cannabis farm

Did everything balance off when you were transferred over, final bills, meter readings supplied and do those meter readings show correctly. To get a bill of nearly £13k I am am wondering if this is an erroneous meter read in there, either that or you are not taking account of your new electric blast furnace.

All was fine - its gone now but when you looked at EDF's Tariff Options they introduced an extra 100000 KWH to my annual consumption.

Looks like EDF are on the ball following my Chat

EDF do keep you on your toes

EDF's current billing system is garbage. And if you ever pay an estimated bill because you thought the estimates were about right, watch out on your next bill based on real readings, the estimated readings can/will be "re-estimated" and if there any rate changes during the period you can end up losing out (sometimes gaining) depending on how the new estimates go. The lesson here is always take meter readings, and if need be, phone up and give them the readings for the specific date - you can't do that on "My Account" because their archaic system doesn't allow you enter a reading for a specific date.

Why does Octopus Kraken system have such high reviews on here ?
I was with Octopus very recently & they failed to bill both fuels together for the whole 6 months I was with them!
They just billed one fuel one day then the other fuel a couple of days later ? Very poor imo

Did it matter which day they billed each fuel? Did it cause you any problems? If not, why do you think it is poor?

When you provide meter reads on the same day for both fuels why wouldn’t you expect both fuels to show on the same bill ??
online billing so logon to see your bill & only one fuel shows then a few days later the other fuel shows, never had this with any other supplier so can’t understand why folks think Kraken is supposedly so great, it wasn’t in my experience.
