How about the peak usage?

If the total use for both peak and off-peak is roughly for those two months the same it suggests a reversal of the registers.

For December to January 2020-2021 total usage was 674.764 - 432.132 off peak and 236.632 peak. For December 2021-January 2022 total usage was 1518.978 - off peak 1312.493, peak 206.485. For Jan-Feb 2022 off peak 1285.473 and peak 224.638. So you can see, the peak usage is steady even though I'm working from home now full time.

So you've got three options:

1. Just pay the bill.
2. Pay OVO the £140 and then get it back (as you're certain the meter is faulty).
3. Pay an electrician to fit your own check meter so you can verify OVO's readings. You won't get this back. If this confirms the problem then do 2, else do 1.
   

The lowest-cost option seems, to me at least, for you to pay OVO the £140 they are asking for.
