I have a Toshiba smart tv (32WK3C63DB) but yesterday the event timer function stopped working and displays message "usb disk is in unsupported format" and asks if I want to format disk. It seems to think I want to to record but I have never used an external usb for this as I don't record programmes. I have tried adding a new timer in settings but this is not working either. Has anyone come across this before, or have any ideas? I have been trawling the internet fo a solution to no avail. The look of the tv guide seems different too so wonder what has happened.

Is there an option to factory reset the TV?
Do you have a USB drive plugged in?Jenni x0 -
Thanks for your response. I did look for a factory reset but couldn't find how to do it on my model. I have tried re-installing but no joy. As for the USB I do not have one plugged in and never have as I don't record things. The event timer (i.e. switching to a particular programme at set time) worked perfectly fine on Monday but yesterday and today it just brings up the message about usb formatting.0

Thanks Neil - I had already tried this (twice) but no difference. The other thing I noticed though is there is a Samba Interactive TV privacy notice which comes up, plus a couple of other apps I don't remember seeing before. These did not disappear when I did the first time installations.0

I am having exactly the same problem with my Toshiba. I have done a reset and have no usb plugged in. I have emailed their helpline, hopefully they will be able to advise what has happened.0

I have received a response from Toshiba UK. There has been an automatic update and we now need to have a blank USB in the TV in order to set a reminder. They will send one to you if you contact them. They are currently waiting for another update to fix this problem. Email them at. support.uk@toshiba-tv.com.2
