Managed to get up at a sensible time today but ended up showering in the dark as the bathroom light has gone. It is an old light with a circular fourescent tube which is now doing nothing but flash. Hopefully we will be able to get a new one tomorrow or a replacement fitting. An all over wash in the kitchen tomorrow morning I think.

A couple of small ebay sales which will go towards the present pot for next year when ebay pay me. Youngest dgd is 21 in February all I need to do is see what she wants. I want to get her something to keep rather than her usual money so I need some suggestions from her. She isnt a jewellery girl which would be my first choice.

C was very difficult on his walk today as there were not only birds flying but some children were playing football on our green area  which he found very exciting and then on the green across the road he saw squirrels. I think he is also getting a bit bored with restricted outings. As soon as we get the all clear from the vet I will book an enclosed field near us to have a good run off lead. We will also be able to check his recall properly. We would love to know his background and why he is like he is. In many ways it is like having a very  unruly puppy who is excited by the big wide world. He does not seem to have had any of the normal experiences of a dog and he has certainly never learned how to walk on a lead.

    Good evening.
I took the parcels to the PO toda to find it was closed due to staff illness. I was not amused as they have a little counter that they use out of hours (if they can be bothered so very unreliable) but they refused to take them so I will have to try tomorrow. They From the notice they had put up they are open tomorrow but if not I will get the bus and take them to the next nearest one as it shouldnt take too long. It is even more annoying because there are hardly any buses at the moment as the company seems to think people dont want to go anywhere between Christmas and New Year. Hard lick if you want to visit the sales. I cant believe it is consideration for their drivers as they dont treat them well anyway.

I pooped into S and got dog food and black pudding. Mr LH likes the one they sell there. Main shopping will be tomorrow as we had a vet appointment this afternoon for a check on C. He still has some bruising so is still on restricted exercise for another week - shame he doesnt understand this.

Money from ebay sales has gone into the present pot so there is now just over £50 in there. A good start for 2023 as we have a small family so not too many presents.and with the exception of youngest dgd they are all in the summer so time to get some money in there from sales. It will be a novelty to have the money there already as usually I have to scrape around to find the money. The general saving pot is doing OK and I have the money in the current account for our final council tax payment of the year which would have been paid today if the PO had been open. The next 2 months that I dont have to pay will go into savings. There is also money available for the MOT in a couple of weeks. Hopefully there wont be too much but with a 20 year old car you never know.  If it goes well then I will be ringing the garge door company to get that sorted otherwise it will have to wait a bit longer.

At the moment I am feeling quite positive with how things are going moneywise and have a plan for this year which I have never had before.

Nothing else for today so have a good evening.

It is all about saving money with the bus companies.  "Workers" won't be paying the weekly fare so they won't commit themselves to providing any service.

As our last bus leaves the start point at 5.15 pm/ 5.25 depending on the direction  I doubt many working people use it anyway. Strangely they run later at weekends.
