How long between signing contract and completion?

We are selling a cash-bought flat (no mortgage) and buying a house using the equity as a deposit - we have responded to enquiries and our solicitor is calling us in tomorrow morning to sign the approved contract. We are about to also do the same on our purchase as all our searches and enquiries have been received too. I assume this means we are nearing the end?
Apologies, I'm a bit clueless and just want to get an idea of when we might eventually be moving!

Could be days, could still be months.Signing the contract has no legal meaning and it can be done near the beginning or near the end of the process.0

key is the time between exchange and completion, you will now be asked to sign them without dating them and then the dates will be put in later when exchange actually happens0

I signed the contract about 2 weeks before exchange and completion on the same day.The contract was not dated until the day of exchanged. The solicitor phoned me about an hour before exchange to check I was still happy to go ahead.Breast Cancer Now 100 miles October 2022 100/100miles
