    Hard to predict the future.

Had I known Bulb would go into special administration would have switched suppliers earlier.

"We're increasing our electricity unit rate from 20.763p to 29.632p per kWh and electricity standing charge from 23.296p to 32.141p per day.

We're increasing our gas unit rate from 4.186p to 7.517p per kWh and standing charge from 26.112p to 27.219p per day.

These prices all include VAT at 5%."

Those rates are exactly what the price cap is - for London region - from 1st April 2022, so it probably doesn't matter whether you switched from Bulb or not, that's the same amount you'll be paying on a SVR with any supplier. Any fixed rates that are available will typically be higher

My electric is 15p per unit and 23p a day SC ex VAT on a current EDF fix. Will be a long time until I see these rates again.

My fixed deal ended 28th Feb so I've tried to be organised tonight and took meter readings ready for the new price capped tarriff.

I'm with British Gas on DD and when I looked at the standard variable tariff that I'm now on, it seems they are charging me the 1st April price cap rate already

    Gas:
    Unit rate: 7.319p per kWh
    Standing charge: 27.220p per day

    Electric:
    Unit rate29.484p per kWh
    Standing charge41.660p per day

Is this right, shouldn't I be on the current price cup until 1st april?

I've also looked back and they quoted me on 24th Jan that the standard variable would be:

    Gas:
    Unit rate: 4.053p per kWh
    Standing charge: 26.123p per day

    Electric:
    Unit rate: 21.557p per kWh
    Standing charge: 24.038p per day

I'm going to ring them tomorrow afternoon to ask.

BG are just showing the rates from April on their website. You won't be charged them until then.  EDF are doing the same.

SSE and they have since been in touched 5days later to add another £10 to my monthly d/d. In 3 years I have never even had the storage heaters on and Im working 5 days of the week away from home, no idea how i can reduce my bills anymore.

What do you mean by this? Just that you aren't using them as regular electric heaters during the day, or that you aren't using them as storage heaters that heat up at night and gradually release heat during the day?
  • Hi,
