Asking on behalf of a friend who has a problem with his van.
Last week he took his van into the Nissan dealers as it was under warranty as there was a warning ight on the dashboard. The garage looked at the vehicle but said they were unable to diagnose the problem but they turned off and reset the light and said to take the van away come back in if it came on again.
It came back on today and he has been back to the dealers and today they have diagnosed the problem which is a very expensive fix. However, the warranty has run out a couple of days ago but the garage dispute the fact that they should have diagnosed the fault when he first came in last week. They have also told him he should not drive the van till it is fixed.
Does he have any comeback on the garage for not diagnosing the problem last week whilst it was still under warranty.

What have the garage now identified as the fault?
What repair costs?0 -
Is this a Nissan warranty, or an Arthur Daley one?0

Thank you for the replies.
The repair costs are just over £600, it is a Nissan warranty.0 -
..I would tke it up with Nissan directly...
.."It's everybody's fault but mine...."0 -
Yes, take it up with Nissan. The fact is that the fault was reported before the warranty expired. The fact that the garage failed to identify it correctly is irrelevant.0

Go straight to Nissan direct.
State it went in with the fault before the warranty ran out.
I had an issue 3 days before my car was 3 year old.
Got it in and found a parking sensor was faulty.
Went back 3 weeks later and fixed fine.
As the fault happened 3 days before warranty ran out I took out and extended warranty there and then.
I think your mate should have done so also.
Made one claim for washer pipe £250, might need a Nox sensor also if light comes back on £450.
So warranty will be worth it.0
