Eon Next Online v11, Fixed 1 Year but don't have a smart meter.

Has anyone applied for this tariff but without agreeing to having a smart meter installed?
Or even the same but two year fix without a smart meter being installed.
I am pretty sure Martin said you could go for this without them forcing you to have a smart meter. Just wondering if anyone has spoken or email Eon about this.
Thanks for any feedback regarding this.

The tariff requires a smart meter to be installed if possible. If you can't have a smart meter due to network conditions, you'll be okay - but if you can and just don't want one, they can remove you back to the Standard Variable Tariff.1

I'll be very surprised if you can apply for any like wise without agreeing to have a smart meter installed.and don't forget that once your meter comes to the end of its useful life you will be forced to have a smart meter as there will be no other choice.and I think V11 has been pulled now anyway. It's V12 now, and more expensive.1

If you've had the email offering the v11 online tarriff, then why not ring EON up and see if they will still honour it. Can't hurt to try.2

I asked Eon Next about the smart meter, they said I had to agree to it. I asked for the Terms & Conditions, she wrote this:"Next Online
Tariff features:
-Fixed prices meaning customers are protected from any rises for 12
months
-Customer must pay by Direct Debit and manage their account
online
-Comes with 100% renewable electricity as standard
-This tariff will appear on bills as the customers cheapest offer
Principle terms:
-12-month tariff - Prices are fixed for 12 months from your tariff start
date.
-Payment by fixed monthly Direct Debit- This tariff is only available
to customers paying by fixed monthly Direct Debit. If you cancel
your Direct Debit you will see an increase in your unit rate and
standing charge.
-Online account management - This tariff is only available to
customers that manage their account online.-Agree to have smart meters installed- By choosing this tariff you
agree to a smart meter installation, where eligible (they will be
contacted later)
-No exit fee - There is no exit fee on this tariff"Search for Eon Next terms and conditions (I can't post links yet) this covers all tariffs in sections, you can find the fixed ones here as well as smart meter info.
The terms say
1.3.2 Smart meters
1.3.3 We may contact you at any time to offer you a Smart meter. We will arrange an appointment with you for the installation of this. If you repeatedly refuse to allow us to install a Smart Meter, you may not be eligible for our full range of products and services, which may include specific Smart Meter tariffs which may be cheaper.
So I imagine at some point they would put you back on SVT if you refuse a SM.

Their Next Flex tariff offers the same price as the pulled V11 fixed tariff of yesterday. It stated you may be contacted to have s smart meter fitted at some point.....and goes on re the post above about repeated refusal may result in.....bla bla. The wording may in those t&c's tells me they'll probably keep pestering you to have one. They've done that to me since joining them in October but never have they threatened anything.
I've took their Next Flex deal (variable) for now and just wait until October or whenever things change.😩1 -

I wonder how much flexibility there would be to having a smart meter.
If it's bigger or doesn't fir with where you have your meters, surely you could refuse on those grounds?
I don't have a smart meter and I'll put them off for as long as I can to make sure I get the latest meter possible. But if they insist, meh, not bothered about having one either way.0
