We were lucky that only the felt on the flat roof of our loft conversion (done by previous owners) and TV ariel were lost during storm Eunice on Friday 18th Feb. On Saturday my husband contacted the emergency number with our buildings insurers - Fairmead (Legala d General)we did appreciate it was a busy time for them. we were told someone would come on March 3rd to assess but prior to this the’emergency team’ would visit. On Sunday 20th it rained heavily am due the wind drove water through the remaining covering - honestly bucket so amd bowls - dripping through light sun and down walls.
On Monday 21st we called again a d were asked to do ‘emergency repair’ I feel we could and we would be covered up to the value of £500. We have video of the rain n and a drove picture of the roof am due informed the insurance that we could sending this but could not do any temporary repairs as scaffold will be needed.
On Wednesday 23rd my husband (a time work’ got a series of text messages saying someone’s had been to assess the damage but was unable to do this as scaffolding would be needed.
As I write it’s raining heavily again. Shower room again has water dripping through lights, amd now water is also see
ing through the ceiling on the floor below. OH called back and we were told someone is coming to assess the damage on Thursday we again said ‘how?’ Oh they have specialist equipment (is that insurance speak for a drone’
I know people have suffered worse but I truly wonder why we have paid premiums for years. I feel sure Thursday will not determine when we will be made watertight again.

Thanks for reading and any suggestions to get something done?
