It would be approximately 54% for someone who is already on the Standard Variable rate and uses the average amount of energy on a dual fuel basis.
However, where Mr or Mrs Average lives might be hard to find.
If you are an electricity only customer then the pain is much worse.
The rise in the cap is a confusing mess, you need to do your own calculations about exactly what it means for you, based on your actual usage and the latest rates.
