ASI GARS fund

I had it as part of a default portfolio with my employer . After I started to take a more active interest in my pension(s) I realised it seemed not to be performing very well - abysmally in fact . I left it for a while as it should at least be good in a market downturn but in the end just changed it for a multi asset fund in that pension, and bought CGT/PA in another one . Apparently there has been a big outflow of money from the fund and absolute return funds in general .Aged said:
I did not buy it, and I don't understand what it holds. My main issue with it is that it hasn't done well for me, hence I want to get rid of it and replace it with something else!Malthusian said:ASI GARS has a very strange list of holdings.I can't really blame a fund data aggregator for not being able to categorise "Favoured FX Carry - Long Favoured Defensive Currencies - Global Currencies Behavioural Relative Value" into their boxes. And there is bound to be a disclaimer in their terms of use to the effect of "For entertainment purposes only".If you understand what ASI GARS holds you wouldn't use a free tool like Trustnet to model it.

That's good to know, thanks. I hope your replacement funds are doing better for you?Albermarle said:

It is too early to be sure , only sold the last part of it a year ago. It just seemed to be that I was paying a charge for a fund that seemed to be just holding cash or cash type products and I have enough cash outside the pension . Plus it says it aims to grow but even in recent good years it is has really underperformed.Aged said:
