Rodent mesh and foam boards

I want to get rid of all the fibre glass in my loft and replace it with foam boards covered with rodent mesh. Has anyone done anything like this? I don't want anything that rodents can nest in? Any ideas gratefully received. Thank you.

Wouldn't it be more effective to use rodent mesh around any entry points to prevent them getting into the house in the first place?  If you stop them nesting in the attic but don't prevent them getting in the house, they may just move elsewhere in your house... like your bedroom!
