Gas Usage Winter Months
Hi all. Just curious as to what other people average monthly usage is during the winter months. I have a 3 bedroom semi detached house with 4 people living in it and someone in at most times during day/night. Average usage in winter months (November, December, January, February) seems to be around 2000 kwh per month. Does this seem about right?

The mythical average is 12000kWh/annum. That 1000kWh/month, so double that for the coldest month is about right. My rule of thumb is 75% in the coldest half the year and 25% for the warm half.1

I used to have similar usage to yours a number of years ago, with 3 people in a 2 bed terraced.
Yeah it seems about right, even better if there all 16 years and older.
It could come down bit too.

Ultimately this is a question for your specific situation but as above your use isn't atypical. If there is reasonable scope to reduce this is a decision for you.markavfc2 said:Does this seem about right?0
