Business and personal accounts with the same bank?

Look at it from the point of view. If anything happened to their systems (as per other banks) you are locked out of all your accounts for a while how would you cope?bpk101 said:
Using different banks sort of defeats the purpose of what i'm trying to achieve though i.e. a simpler system for managing my money.eskbanker said:
... if you're keen to avoid that then use different banks.
... given the large number of banks out there, putting all your eggs in one basket seems an avoidable risk.
Having to sign into and navigate 3 different app interfaces that all do sort of the same thing but in annoyingly very different ways will be such a time and energy zapper.
At least having a separate personal account, say Joint Acc, elsewhere negates such issues. Also remember about the FSCS compensation limits as you are in one institution.
I get your idea to keep it all in one simple sign on.Life in the slow lane0 -
If you have a smartphone/tablet, which the OP must have if he does Starling and Monzo, biometric login for everyday use is a doddle, and having 3 or 5 banks icons in a "Banks" folder on your device is also not a problem. Neither is keeping a record of your "longhand" login credentials - - just use a password manager, such as Lastpass.born_again said:

Oh !!!!!!... back to square one it would seem.
'Starling Joint Account — As long as you’ve both got a Starling personal account, you can set it up.'
My OH banks with Barclays and has a lot of premiere account benefits they don't wish to give up, and I didn't want to use Starling as my personal account due to the issues mentioned.0 -
You have to both have sole accounts at Starling before you can have a joint one but you do not have to use your sole accounts at allbpk101 said:Oh !!!!!!... back to square one it would seem.

Anyway, I presume you did you look at Virgin Money and TSB, and discarded them as options. Can you share why you don't consider them viable candidates?0 -
I can't find any information about either of them that supports the fact that their joint accounts offer the individual saving pots feature.Daliah said:

Do you know if this is definitely the case?0
