prepay gas and electric

Please could anyone help,
I had to have prepay gas and electric meters due to debt, I have asked British gas in the past how much i still owe and one dept says nil but another says i still have debt on electric and continue to take extra from the top ups,i don't think the debt on gas has been paid off yet, I have asked previously for a statement to show if I still owe money but they say they don't do statements, How would i be able to find out how much still owe them? i'm currently waiting to speak to british gas advisor to request a statement been listening to music for 33minutes then she says can't put me through yet as shes also in a queue for her to put calls through

i have a smart meter for electric but gas is a card,the smart meter was not able to work because the meters are too far apart they said when they came to fit them both

they finally put me through to advisor after 1 hour 46 minutes ! who said i don't owe anything, but its on clearscore that the full amount remains unpaid, I have asked BG to have it removed. they also sent me an estimate for gas and electric this year of 
£4250.01 for gas and £3736.50 electric. looks like the woodburner is going to be running the radiators instead of the gas this year

Could you turn the temperatures on the boiler down to 50 degrees for hot water and 55 degrees for heating plus get into the habit of if it's not in use then it's off at the wall socket? Also turn the heating down to between 18 and 21 degrees, lower if you can tolerate a lower temperature. 
Just under £8000 for electric and gas that's unbelievable even after the April price increase I will be still sub £900 per year for both electric & gas. What they quoted you is most likely including the April increase and using pre pay meters which can be up to 5p per day more for electric and 10p more for gas. https://www.edfenergy.com/sites/default/files/r505_deemed_rate_card.pdf look at the chart to see how much the deemed rates will be for your area.  The extra money you will save if you can be put on a DD and turn off everything not in use will be immense.

Those are eye-watering numbers to be paying for any normal domestic property. This is a money saving forum, and plenty of people here will be willing to engage with you to help you to get your consumption down. Do you have readings from the meters from a year ago and from now? Are you running any seriously heavy consumption appliances?

£4250.01 for gas and £3736.50 electric.        Oh my god what you running a factory, how many people in your house, when I lived with my partner I was only paying about 1200 for gas and about 380 a year.  I live alone now and from Jan 2021 to Dec 2021 I topped up my meters with 310 electric and 510 gas. I use around 1400kw electric and 1200 to 1400 kW gas.
