Block plan for a "building notice" type application

I am about to make a building regulations application of type "building notice". I was just going through some guidence notes and there is one clause saying that
"A Building Notice involving a new building or an extension must include a block plan of a scale not less
than 1:1250 ..."
I was under the impression that no plans are required for the building notice type application.
Is there any place I can get existing plans and then just alter them myself to show the new extension?
The works I am having are pretty simple. I have an old brick shed which I am knocking down and rebuilding it slightly bigger. The extended new building will extend an additional 0.3m and 0.1m in depth and width. At a scale of 1:1250 it might be difficult to show the difference in the existing shed and new extension. Do I really need to submit a plan or is there an alternative? Can I just put that in additional information and submit application without a plan?
Any experiences or insight you might have with this would be helpful.
Marriage is hard. Divorce is hard. Choose your hard.
Obesity is hard. Being fit is hard. Choose your hard.
Being in debt is hard. Being financially disciplined is hard. Choose your hard.
Communication is hard. Not communicating is hard. Choose your hard.
Life will never be easy. It will always be hard. But you can choose your hard.

It doesn't have to be exactly 1:1250.I would include at least a basic plan whether it is essential or not. The easier you make it for other people to understand what you want to do, and how that relates to other buildings/boundaries, the more you reduce the scope for misunderstandings and/or misplaced concerns. Pictures also help. If the process is online and there is a facility to upload plans/pictures then there's no good reason not to take the opportunity.1
