We have always had the asda curry meal deals for 2 and found them to be excellent.
Think they come in at under 6 quid at the till and you get 2 curries...2 rice of your choice..2 mini snacks and 2 naan breads mmmmmmm
We have tried most but our faves are tikka masala.korma and jalfrezi.
One word of advice though.....get them to do it at the curry counter for you while you wait as i've found the ones that are pre bagged tend to have less meat in them and never seem to taste as good.
Hope this helps and you enjoy your meal!Make £10 a Day Feb .....£75.... March... £65......April...£90.....May £20.....June £35.......July £600 -
My favourite is Marks & Spencer's Chicken Tikka Massala.
I also think Asda's deep pan pizza's are good value, with very generous quantities of toppings.10 Dec 2007 - Led Zeppelin - I was there. :j :cool2: I wear my 50 (gold/red/white) blood donations pin badge with pride. Give blood, save a life. 0 -

I agree that Sainsburys are very good, don't like Tescos at all.
Re someone elses remark about prefering 'authentic' - I stopped buying authentic when the most popular curry dish in the local curry house was found to have semen in it (test done by the people who check cleanliness, hygiene etc).0 -
hahahahahahahaha.................so many jokes.........bet it was a Korma...................its so creamy..........................hahahahaha I'll get in trouble for that one.Panda xx

I am with Nile ont hsi one - I like M&S. The best is the chinese peking aromatic duck, with the pancakes and the spring onions etc. Really tasty - yum!r.mac, you are so wise and wonderful, that post was lovely and so insightful!0

Pot noodle from Aldi for me.

Waitrose or the Bombay Brasserie from sainsburys. Really lovely but nearly as dear as a takeaway! Local Waitrose does reduce the food to silly prices, however, if you shop on Sunday at nearly closing time or Monday evening. I don't know of a good chinese supermarket takeaway - but Ainsley Harriot does a lovely Chow Mein in his book 'Meals in Minutes' that really tastes like it could have come from the take away, but obviously someone does have to cook it!0

Chinese definitely seems harder for supermarkets to get right. Had a lovely (reduced!) Thai coconut chicken thing from Waitrose today though.0

We have found ASDA the best so far.
The curries have always been very good value, and agree that you should always buy from the counter as you get more meat in the portions instead of the pre-bagged ones (unless of course the bagged ones are on the reduced counter!)
We had a chinese takeaway the other day from a chinese takeaway - it was awful! I couldnt eat it ! ( it came to £17 for 3 of us) I binned it and went down to ASDA and bought a chinese meal for 3, dishes, rice, snacks, crackers all for £8 - half the price and it was very nice! although sometimes the chinese doesnt always look good - could just depend on the day!
Pizza's are bargain too - mega 14" £2.99! (watch out for the chilli oil though!):)
