    Looks solid enough to me!

Have you tried moving a cast iron bath??

From a waterproofing perspective, it's far better to tile to a new bath than it is to try and fit a bath to older tiles.

I'd rather fix the existing one if starting from scratch is out of budget.

£750 is a bit of a tight budget to work with. To replace a bath, taps, wastes etc including labour and disposal of the old bath, you will be looking at fairly low end taps etc.

Unless you're happy to chip in the extra if it goes over budget, I'd be inclined to ask the landlord to arrange either the repair or replacement. If it then goes over their budget, it's their problem and not yours.

It looks the same as my bath which is pressed steel. Who told you it's cast iron?
If you're replacing the current mixer tap definitely get a thermostatic mixer tap.
I wondered about re enamelling yesterday as mine has scratches and is worn on the base near the plughole. I was looking closely at it as I'd shaken water off a paintbrush full of gloss paint into the bath resulting in numerous paint splatters which seemed keen to stay put.  Has anyone tried diy enamelling?

That shower looks "ok" but as it's not branded, you may struggle if you need replacement parts in a year or two. I'd go for a branded mixer, something like Bristan or Grohe. You'll get a better warranty and parts will be much easier to source should you need them a few years down the line.

Have a look here for inspiration:

I'd recommend a thermostatic tap as it'll be much better for a shower.

Can you change the colour of a cast iron bath by having the enamel replaced?  Just found out I have a pink cast iron tub!

That’s a pressed steel bath, not cast iron
