Gas and Electric

I know gas and electric is going up in April but I’m currently with EDF on a variable tariff I’ve only been in the house 6month as it’s my first time moving out of my parents. My variable tariff depends it can be £50-£120, they’ve offered me a fixed tariff for £120. What should I do? Should I take the fixed tariff or should I stick with variable? I have no clue what to do and need to decide quickly! Any advice would be appreciated

Welcome to the forum. How much energy - gas and electricity - have you used in the time you've been in your new home? You've just been through the winter (spring starts soon!) and so the next six months should see you using less energy than you have to date.I don't think EDF have any particularly good fixed-rate deals at the moment. You'll probably be best sticking with the variable rate.N. Hampshire, he/him. Octopus Intelligent Go elec & Tracker gas / Vodafone BB / iD mobile. When did they offer it to you? I'm with EDF and they put their rates up on Friday. I wouldn't take the rates on offer now as they are so highOn Thursday I was offered £208 a month which compared to £187 if I stayed on the variable rate. On Friday it went up to £287. Can you put the actual unit rates on you have been offered as it will be easy to see how they compare to the standard variable rate but check the rate is still available.0
