Morning everyone
Hugs to those that want/need them, those who are poorly and those who are looking after a poorly person x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Still dark,- rain forecast every day this week - we'll see what we get. Not so cold though.
DH and DS1 getting ready for work I'm showered, dressed and enjoying my first cuppa and brekkie whilst on here. DS2 settled and happy.
Lunch was good yesterday had a guest for lunch who seemed to enjoy the food. I cooked roast pork and roast chicken - so plenty of LO's - yorkshires, mash, both meats - that will make at least one dinner this week.- depends what sort of day I have today as to whether it's tonight or tomorrow. May do fried mash with cold meat tonight.
Back to work today - will see what sort of chaos I've been left with! Still covering for staff off sick!
Keep safe and well x

Good morning, thanks for starting NMLC - hope your day is not too chaotic.Seems damp out there, yesterday was a lovely fine day, but bitterly cold.We weren't out at all, I think we just pottered. I did the ironing, there wasn'r much, made a couple of cards, and that was it really.Nanny the thought of you looking like a sack that's tied awkward made me laugh!!It's a problem about what to do with knickers if you're travelling, I know. I've done what you are going to do Gers, worn old ones and thrown them away, much easier.YorksLass, I'll make pancakes tomorrow if I remember, DH is very fond of them. One year when I had family at home I did a big stack in advance, and separated them with greaseproof before freezing them. It worked really well, they thaw out quickly and are easily re heated.Like you, I'm often to be found under a fleece throw in the evenings, in fact I've got one over my knees now, the heating is not on yet. The way things are going we'll not be able to afford heating anyway.DP1, you do a sterling job with helping your DD, I'm sure she's grateful that you're always there for her and dgd.Florence, your Easter makes are lovely.Dgd will be coming for her tea after school as usual, and we are getting our hair done today.Hope everyone has a good day today - take care folks14

Morning All
Thanks for the start nmlc, hope work isn't too bad for you.
Glorious day yesterday, washing dried on the line including the bath mats, grass raked of some moss, little greenhouse dismantled and a general tidy up. I walked down to Aldi for the shopping and although sunny the wind would have cut you in two. Back to showers this morning but yesterday gave a glimmer of hope for the spring.
Back to work this morning, the weekends seem to go in so quickly, I may try for a swim later but the pool doesn't open until 6pm by which time I don't feel like going out again!
Lovely little egg covers Florence.
Hope you've got all that washing under control Nanny!
Have a happy Monday, take care. XX

Good morning everyone and thanks for the start nmlc. I hope you have a good day at work.
Dry and calm here this morning. Recycling has gone out – usually a blue job but DH is still asleep after his wild camping trip to Wales this weekend. I managed to lose/not lose my bank card at A!di yesterday. Found it in the bottom of the trolley after I’d paid using other means and cancelled it. So stressed! I ended up with a muggy headache for the rest of yesterday, even a 5k walk didn’t clear it. It has now gone, ready for my working day – just typical!
Payday today and I have a few manual payments to make. Still waiting to hear about our gas and electric but have turned the thermostat down and am layering up. Dried the towels on the airer last night and will give them 10 mins in the tumble dryer so I can actually fold them and put away.
Dinner tonight is mushroom tagliatelle – another new to us recipe.
Hugs to all those in need including Ruby (not long now hopefully), dp1’s little DGD and DD, Ruby’s DMum, NRA, poppy and anyone else who I’ve missed and could do with one.
Have a good day everyone,
Coxy

Morning folks.Yesterday was bright, sunny and cold, today is grey, dull and cold. Just as well that I did the shopping yesterday as I probably won't be venturing outside today. My SIL rang me yesterday for a belated birthday chat which was really lovely. They're having severe rains just now with many places under deep water, it's all a bit scary.I have to bubble wrap up the jars of branston, that's half an hour sorted for today 😀 There's nothing else on the agenda so far, I'll potter around in between sitting by the stove.Hugs to our poorlies, I hope everyone can keep warm. Happy Monday to all.16

Morning
Very rainy and grey here, very different than yesterday when the sun shone all day. I knew there was something I didn’t miss in winter and its all the noisy lawn mowers that come out at the hint of some sun round here. My grass is still well asleep and doesn’t normally wake up till the end of March.
Had my usual total chill Sunday with the obligatory pjs and cosy dressing gown. Ham for dinner and not much else done. Watched a few catch ups I had recorded and DOI.
Back to reality today so washing on and dishwasher needs filling. Few volunteer calls and a kitchen tidy. Fish cakes peas and spinach tonight.
Gers hope the packing is going well along with the Branston. I had a friend in France who always wanted Heinz beanz and various breakfast items when I visited. I also used to tape every episode of Coronation Street on the old VHS tapes and they would binge them with a full English on a Sunday once I’d gone. Surrounded by such amazing food its surprising what we would all miss.
TA hope SIL came and sorted your chimney with all this rain
Have a good day all

Hi everyone,
I'm finding it difficult to differentiate between the weekends and the week today, it doesn't feel like Monday. Steve was happy that Liverpool won yesterday.
I'm much happier with the state of the house now. I just need to clean the shower room and bathroom today. I made pork fillet in an apple sauce for dinner with mash but for some reason the potatoes became really gluey, they were supposed to be Maris Pipers which I always use so maybe they had been mis-labelled.
dp1, I know how you feel with wanting to help, I try to do as much for Laura as I can, perhaps because I remember what it was like living 200 miles from any family and having to cope by myself whatever was happening (Steve helped as much as he could but was out for 12 hours a day Monday to Friday so often didn't see much of the kids during the week). I remember having two operations and being left to look after a three year old and a new-born the following day (Steve hadn't long been in his new job), that was hard.
Did anyone see the Stanley Tucci programme on Italy, I think he is really dishy but it made me really long for another Italian trip, it may not happen this year but maybe next all being well.
Have a good day.14 -
Morning everyone
I seem to be on a very slow start this morning!
Back to work today but I don't need to leave till about 11.15 - just as well really!
I just wish I could wake up without this headache - I've had it for about 7 weeks now. Enough moaning though - there's an awful lot of people worse off than me.
Yesterday was a lovely day here too - back to grey skies this morning and rain forecast later.
Gers - no DD has no problems with her feet.....
Yorkslass - yes, eldest DD started pole dancing lessons a couple of years ago, when she lived in Sweden. When she moved to Germany one of the first things she did was find somewhere to take lessons - she loves it and from the videos I've seen, seems to be very good - though I have no knowledge of pole dancing - she doesn't fall off! When she moved to the apartment she's in now, she bought a pole for her living room - it fits in place just like a shower pole really, from floor to ceiling and she twirls around happily!
It's taken me so long to write that waffle that I've forgotten what everyone else wrote now!
So I'll just wish you all a good day. Take care x

Morning all, raining hard here after a lovely but cold day yesterday. After we watched DGD's football in the morning, we had a lazy day back home and then watched the Cup final, we wanted Liverpool too Snoozer. We had decided to wait until after the game to eat but there was extra time, I had to keep dashing in to check the roast spuds. The new slow cooker worked well but seemed to be hotter than the old one and the beef looked more like pulled pork Still tasted good and 2 portions gone in the freezer, to replace the space I made taking out some stewed plums for crumble.Gers glad you treated yourself yesterday, & as you say another '1st' gone, always hard.Time for another brew! Have good days everyone x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)14
