Sadly, things can go 'missing' in hospital. Hopefully, we'll never need it - but we have kept an old mobile which just needs a payg chip to activate it, rather than risk losing our contract smart phones.2

Of course I didn't get round to packing my bag, and was rushed off to hospital yesterday evening in an ambulance in my PJs, with just my dressing gown, my slippers and my phone.

Hope you're feeling better fluffy. I was going to suggest keeping a ready packed suitcase on top of the wardrobe or somewhere with the basics in. I had a long stay in hospital a couple of years ago ( 7 weeks) and found my laptop ( or a tablet) was easier to use than my smartphone. Never had a problem with being allowed to plug it in xxfluffymuffy said:Of course I didn't get round to packing my bag, and was rushed off to hospital yesterday evening in an ambulance in my PJs, with just my dressing gown, my slippers and my phone.

May sound daft, but a list of all medication and dosage you are taking regularly.Whilst records are obtainable, you might be on other tablets etc not on your record. If it's in the bag, you can direct staff there(We do that for my wife). Also a bag for dirty washing to be put in in case stay is longer than expected.May you find your sister soon Helli.

On the subject of medication, when Mr S was admitted for 3 days he took his blood pressure meds with him. But because they were in his usual pill dispenser the nurse confiscated them 'because we don't know what they are and we didn't prescribe them'. They checked his BP before discharge and then told him to see his GP as his numbers were higher than normal.....TripleH said:May sound daft, but a list of all medication and dosage you are taking regularly.Whilst records are obtainable, you might be on other tablets etc not on your record.
