How long do you have to update vehicle log book (V5C) after moving?
I recently moved into a new build (a week ago) and have already successfully updated my address on drivers license and insurance. However when trying to update the V5C on the UK government website, it doesn’t recognise my full address yet - it does however recognise my postcode and almost all the houses on the street (mine was one of the last to be completed, which makes sense) - so it seems they are regularly updating their systems. My correct address is listed on the Royal Mail database which is what I assume they are using, so I imagine they will list it shortly.
The alternative is to update and send back the log book by post, which of course I’ll do if required but online would be much easier. I couldn’t see anything on the govt website to say within what time period changes must be made, I’m just wondering if anyone knows how much an issue it would be to update it 2 weeks post moving, 1 month, 2 months etc?

***but online would be much easier.***If it does not show up on the database thyen online is not easier. Simply complete the relevent part and put it in the post that way you know you have done it.Surprising how many other things can get distract you.1

Rubbish isn't it? They expect you to update these things immediately with no legal leeway, but update their address database once month.0

Is there not the option of inputting the address manually, as most sites have 'my address is not listed' button.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.0

The only real issue with not updating the address is that any correspondence regarding the vehicle will go to your old address. So you would not receive notification of when the car tax renewal is due, but of possibly greater risk is that you wouldn't receive any notifications of motoring offences or parking fines.0
