Free insulation

Hi all are there any schemes that do free loft insulation I know they offer boilers and cavity wall but it’s proving difficult to find a loft one.
We have foil type insulation sheets across the roof but there looks to be nothing behind it in terms of any other insulation, so I’m guessing that’s not great.

Loft insulation is not particularly expensive - The likes of B&Q and Wickes have regular "special offers" on the stuff. It is probably the easiest DIY project you can do if you are reasonably fit & able. It just needs a little care not to put a foot through the ceiling and some thought s to getting the stuff right up under the eaves.That foil stuff will be doing little to keep heat in, but if it is stapled to the rafters, it can be left in place for now.Her courage will change the world.
