Afternoon all. A late one from me but I have been busy - honest! Happy Birthday Gers, enjoy the cake and fizz on your special day. Raise a glass to your DM. And what a lovely parcel to have received. Today is oldest DGS's birthday too, he's 8 and nearly as tall as I am. That's not hard though as I'm only a tad over 5'.
Nan: Glad you enjoyed your break and commiserations on the washing that needs to be done. I always look forward to coming home after a holiday but not to sorting out suitcases and contents.
Lovely day again here, sunny and bright with no wind. TA: Hope you get your chimney/roof sorted today.
I have a joint of beef cooking slowly in the oven for tomorrow and the smell is making me feel hungry. I shall resist any naughty nibbles though as I don't want to put back on the weight I have lost over the last 18 months or so. Tonight we're having a seafood platter with brown bread & butter and a tiramisu to follow. Yes, that's a naughty nibble I know but it's my weekend treat.
The first of this coming financial year's bills arrived this morning, rent has gone up (not a surprise). I'm not complaining as our rents are very reasonable but I'm not overjoyed about the service charge for the cleaning of communal areas. It's not the cost, more the quality of what we get for it. Some weeks it seems to be not much more than a lick and a promise.
The clean out of the sideboard yesterday didn't result in much being leaving the house, apart from some old paperwork that can be shredded. Still, it's clean and tidy now and at least I know what's in there.
DH is currently glued to the TV watching rugby. I don't mind, it's not often he commandeers the set and he doesn't moan - well, not too much - about the stuff I like to watch.
Have a good weekend everyone and take time out to enjoy the small pleasures in life. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.9 -
Gers - Happy Birthday.
Bit quieter at the fair today but raised £405.77 for the SA.
I have nearly all the tables reserved for next month's event.
I need to get busy making stuff - my hairdresser's who displays my makes has sold 6 mugs and a bunny so only 1 bunny left there. I sold out of nearly all the felt Easter eggs today. Not many bunny packs left and just had a text ordering 14 of them.
