Hi everyone,
Happy birthday Gers.
We're home again, the sun is shining and the air is very still, I wonder how long it will last. I want to blitz the house over the next couple of days, it's just got that slight air of neglect hanging over it, I want to be able to look round and not think about the jobs I have to do. In addition we need to dismantle and get rid of a bed in my sewing room because the bed settee I ordered is arriving on Tuesday.
I also need to go food shopping, mostly for veg for the next few days. Pasta bake tonight I think, then pork tomorrow.
Have a good day.15 -
Morning all
Bright and sunny here and set in for the day I think, its cold but I dont mind that as long as its not raining.
Got sisters pup coming for the day so we will take them all to the beach I think and give them all a good run around. Got housework to do this morning and shopping to collect at lunch time.
Burgers for dinner tonight with chips and I made some coleslaw yesterday so that will go well with the meal, we have some veggi burgers for dd, although she went out last night and I think she is suffering a bit today !
Gers Have a very Happy Birthday, eat cake and drink the fizz ! xxxxx
Have good days all xxx16 -
Hello all I'm back home safe and sound, well safe anyway, don't think I'll ever be sound 😂 The holiday was lovely, great fun with DD and family and fabulous food at various eateries. Highlight of the hols was Mr Fix It trying to moor up and keep the boat next to the bank while Sil and DD struggled with the ropes in gale force winds and torrential rain, scary stuff ! The other was watching Sil being worried/ wooed (?) by a swan while trying to untie us, it wouldn't let him back on board 😧 luckily DD was the swan whisperer and gently shooed it away. The DGC enjoyed it as did we, but Sil didn't and said he won't be going boating again. DD however loved every minute and took to all aspects of boating life like the proverbial duck. Think she must have been some sort of sailor in a previous life ! Now back to the day to day drudgery, starting with the unpacking, the washing and putting stuff away. I'm in 2 minds whether to try to put the washing out on the whirly, I'll wait and see if it warms up a bit I think. Our shoes will need a good clean too as the towpaths were muddy and /or full of bird p00, yuck !
Another one wondering where all the conflict will end and what will happen for future generations, it will only take another maniac in power to press a button 😱
Sorry haven't been able to keep up much as the signal was very hit and miss, but Belated Birthday wishes for Scarlet 🎂and copious hugs and love for my lovely friend taff 🧡, sorry I wasn't here for you as you have been for me, but I hope you are feeling a little better now.
Gers Happy birthday today, hope you have a lovely day 🎂
Right I'd better make a start as everything was dumped in the dining room yesterday and it looks like a bomb has gone off !
Take care all, stay safe and well.

Thanks for all the birthday wishes - the wee parcel had some chocolate, a jar of peanut butter (no additives), a miniature gin and a book. Such delights! I haven't started on the fizz and cake yet, I'm waiting until after noon which seems a respectable time to start on the booze
not a rational decision but it works for me.
Welcome back Nan, it's so good that you enjoyed your time afloat.Snoozer, welcome home too.Ruby - that beach walk will be chilly but brilliant.15 -
Hope you have a peaceful day Gers, filled with many happy memories to get you through. The first year is always hard as you tend to think 'this time last year' it will be a year of firsts, that memories will help you get through. I wish you well and enjoy your cake and fizz as you would if she was here. xx
So sad the news on TV today how those poor people displaced from their homes and not knowing how their husbands, brothers and fathers will cope without them. The children looking so frightened and lost bless them. What is the matter with Mr Putin ,has he no humanity at all. This is not going to end well for millions of people.
Life is hard for many of us at times and especially at the moment , we have survived the pandemic, and the possibility of war in Europe is very real. Just to satisfy a mans ego
The world seems to have taken leave of its senses at the moment
Please everyone keep safe and take care of each and every one of your friends and family

Morning
Glad you're enjoying your birthday Gers. Its never too early to crack open the fizz on your special day
No particular plans this afternoon just need to sort a couple of weeks meal planning with the last few bits on the top shelf of the kitchen freezer.
Sausage roll done last night so I just need to remember not to bother ordering any more unless of course they are Greggs! Tonight I have smoked salmon and cream cheese bagels with salad.
May settle down and binge on Married at first sight and 4 in a bed. Didn't get round to the shoe cull that can wait till I'm in a better frame of mind. Funny how many memories I have attached to shoes and handbags but truth is they would be better with someone who could wear them.
Have a lovely weekend everyone

afternoon all..was meant to be going out with a couple of friends but one has had a dog emergency so the other is coming here. They did mention fish finger snadwiches, a combination of the idea in my head and not sure whether she wants one means I have trundled to Iceland to get some chunky fish fingers and then I was swayed by greggs chicken bakes, which can be a bit like crack for me, hence never going to greggs or very rarely. A couple of smal boxes of sweet things in case and I'm all tooled up for a visitor. And I've just had a bacon sandwich so I am completely tooled up too.So...Happy Birthday Gers! Lovely to have surprise gifts, you bubbly yourself up! Nanny, I did wonder how you were going toget on in that weather..all's well etc. TA, don't worry about them, they're probably in their first class bunker already.. Izzy, woop woop, freebies! Take care of yourselves you lovely lot....Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi10

Afternoon everyone
Little one stayed last night - she was fast asleep by 10 past 7 then woke at 4am - 'Good morning Granny!' She snuggled down in my bed and it was about quarter past 7 when she woke me again, by poking me - quite hard - on my cheek! I had about 6 inches of bed and she had the rest. She lay and watched one of her programmes on my Ipad while I woke up properly.
We got the bus into town to change her books at the library - we read lots of stories and she made puppets and did some colouring. They always have a craft table set up and little one loves it. Then we met DD for lunch -she gave us a lift home -little one is napping and DD will pick her up when she wakes up.
It was the first time we've gone into town without her pushchair - she was very proud of herself and held my hand nicely. She had reins on as well - she didn't have far to walk.
The news from Ukraine is terrible - I can't help but look at little one and think about all the children who will be so frightened and not have a clue what's happening. And their poor mums and grannies trying to explain to them. So many of them will never see their dads, grandads or big brothers again. All we can do is hope it is over soon.
Well I'm going to make myself a cuppa - though usually when I do that she seems to wake up. Fingers crossed I get another half an hour.
Gers - Happy Birthday - enjoy your cake
SA - hope your sale is well attended.
Take care everyone x10
