Energy Price cap to increase again next year?

I cannot find the story now but on the BBC News site i saw a story that due to the conflict in the Ukraine energy prices were likely to soar again. As i cant find the story i cant be certain of my figures, but im sure it showed it would be doubling. How on earth is anyone meant to keep up with these costs? Im on ESA and PIP and live with my 75year old mother. Surely something has to be done to protect the people?
And of course there will be the increase in payment next year due to the discount this time.
If anyone else saw the story please link it below.
Thanks Brian.

One small correction, it isn't next year it is in October this year when the cap changes again, and if Ofgem judge that it is necessary, they could do it before October...I'm not sure it is helpful to give that BBC report too much promotion though as it is really just a lot of speculation right now...0

The only thing we know for certain is that the SC will definitely maybe be going up by at least 11p next April, unless things change
Anything other than that is pure speculation and we all know the press love to scare people into click baiting. It could possibly double, but it could also come down.0 -
I haven't read a BBC news story but on BBC news, or possibly Newsnight, I did see a projection on the basis that yesterday's spike in energy prices remained stable at this new level over the next few months. So more an example to make a point rather than any sort of prediction. Who knows right now frankly!
