Morning everyone
Hugs to those that want/need them, those who are poorly and those who are looking after a poorly person x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Still dark,- air feels cold. We had a very mixed bag of weather yesterday, some sun and cloud then it turned cold, wind blew and we got hail and snow - but it just wet the ground and didn't hang around long.
DH and DS1 getting ready for work I'm showered, dressed and enjoying my first cuppa and brekkie whilst on here. DS2 settled and happy.
Dinner last night was LO chicken and mushroom pie, jacket potato, beans and cheese or chips and beans - all eaten no waste. Not sure what we'll be eating tonight but will find something.
Yesterday work was ok, was quiet to start off, but then busy as I had to do an on-line course whilst doing the normal job - don't ask! Pleased to be on my days' off but as always have a list.
Keep safe and well x

Good morning, thanks for starting NMLC, enjoy your time off. Thanks everyone for the birthday wishes yesterday, we didn't go out for lunch because I was as deaf as the proverbial post, I could only use one hearing aid, so I suggested to DH that we go today after I've had my ears micro suctioned this morning.Had a visit from Ds and family, and dd had left a present before they went away for half term.A friend called with a lovely outdoor basket planted up with bulbs, so I've placed it where it can be seen from the kitchen window. So I had a nice day !It was bitterly cold again with the odd flake of snow drifting down, but stayed fine.DP1, I'm glad your cat returned home, bet you were pleased to see him.Hope you will soon feel better Ruby, take it easy.TA, Sparkle has had quite a long spell between vet's visits this time hasn't she, hope it continues like that.Taff, sorry you were feeling so low, but don't apologise for it.Hope grandson Jack enjoyed his birthday Jackie.I've got a feeling I've missed people out, I'm going to have to start making notes when reading the thread, I don't like to miss people.Someone commented on TK Maxx, saying their DH hated it - my sister did, and she said it was like a jumble sale as well!I'll digress here, what happened to jumble sales anyway, you never hear of them now. When a friend and I were hard up young mothers we loved a jumble sale.I suppose the charity shops haven taken over from them now.Hope everyone has as good a day as they can, take care folks.15

I meant to say to YorksLass, who agreed with me the other day that it's best to get a CS bag out of the house as soon as possible,I was very strong minded yesterday and filled a large carrier bag with things that I don't want any more, and it will be going today!!12

Morning folks. No overnight heavy rain or blustery winds, it's been weeks since we had a calm night. The sky was cloudless so the stars were visible, it's such a great sight, I find it that seeing them twinkling away really lifts my spirits. 😀I'm contemplating going out again this morning though I'll wait to see what's in the forecast. After buying the annoyingly expensive 'fit to fly' test I've found that I don't need it. Grrr. The information is so confusing.Scarlet - I think that many jumble sales have been lost to car boot sales. What people used to give away to churches or Boy Scout groups (and such like) are now being sold. And the rise of online auction and selling sites won't have helped the humble jumble sale to survive. This morning I'll have my usual Friday 8.00am call from Australia, my friend always rings right on the dot, usually catching my SIL out as she's out in the fields or walking home. SIL has built herself a tiny house at the edge of her land to give herself space. 😂
I send hugs to our poorlies and wish everyone a happy Friday.16 -
Morning All
Thanks for the start nmlc, enjoy your day off.
Glad you had a good day Scarlett. I like some of the TK's stores, but I agree some are like jumble sales!
Happy Birthday Gers!
Must dash, I've been speaking to DS2 in Thailand this morning so running a bit late.
Have a good day, the sun is about to shine here for a change but it's very icy, the car will need lots of scraping.
Take care. XX14 -
Morning folks and thanks NMLC. After we had everything the weather could throw at us yesterday today is forecast to be calm with some sun! There is still a bit of snow about so that should soon melt.
The news from Ukraine gets worse by the day. My heart goes out to those poor innocent citizens. I won't vent my feelings about that madman as I'm sure everyone else feels the same about him. It's a big worry about where all this will lead for us all.
Oh well it's Friday Tidy day and I must try harder than last week's half hearted effort! My excuse is I am waiting for the better weather when everywhere will get a thorough Spring clean! As well as a good clear out of my clothes.
SCARLET your talk of jumble sales takes me back many years, to when the kids were young, I was helping at a jumble sale at the SA (oldest buddy a life time ""soldier) and there was a hamster cage on one of the stalls, Of course I had to buy it and called at the pet shop on the way home for a hamster and the necessary supplies! Bob had said don't come home with a load of rubbish but I don't think he expected me back with a hamster!
Oh and yes SCARLET, Sparkle has gone a long time since her last injection. 10 weeks! Even the vet was surprised as they expect 4 - 6 weeks maximum. It knocked her for six for 24 hours, as usual, but by last night she was back to her usual mental self! And talking of cats, Dp1 what a lovely surprise to find your missing puss on the doorstep!
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for all in need of them. Take care one and all and be safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"16 -
Morning all,
Lots of wild sounding rain (hail?) showers last night early on, very loud, but it seemed to settle down and I slept well. I started the morning, as I have been recently, doing Wordle, Wurdle (Orcadian version of Wordle), Nerdle and Globle. Managed to solve them all so was happy with that! WM on and hope to fit some Duolingo in before getting the day properly started. Found out the other day that my mum had broke her wrist, and she is generally not very well just now (lots of things and she is really fed up as some been dragging on) - not managed to speak to her yet as she was so worn out (in hospital for 10 hours on Wed!) but sister is keeping me updated. It's a worry. Thinking of the rest of you with worries, illness, stresses, and wishing you all a good day. Anyone with anything fun happening, I hope that's a tonic for you too! Take care all of you.Ermutigung wirkt immer besser als Verurteilung.

Morning
Cold today but a lovely blue sky and some sun.
Happy Birthday Gers. Make sure there’s lots of cake scattered throughout the day x
Ruby hope you are feeling better
Shopping delivered yesterday mostly house stuff and toiletries that needed topping up. Prices creeping up lots now
Hoisin fried rice last night. It was a cheat using Uncle bens with a few additions. Another of those random purchases when panicking a bit about lockdown. It was OK and very quick but not something I want to buy again.
Tonight is another dinner I could live without it’s the final Xmas sausage roll from a box of 4 in the freezer so Ill do some chips and beans with it. Finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel of eating down the kitchen freezer although there’s still a drawer full of frozen veg which needs sorting. Looking forward to a slow restock in a few weeks then I can have my favourites again. Saying that I may well regret doing it with the threat of shortages due to Ukraine. I still have a mountain to climb with the garage freezer though so I won’t starve
Taff, I hope you are feeling perkier today. Your post on Wednesday really struck a chord with me. When your life changes so dramatically it is like grief…grieving for the life you used have. For me it was going from being a headless chicken commuting all over the country for work, socalising, holidays, regular visits with friends and so on to now where a trip to the bin is the peak excitement of the day! As for helpful advice from “those” people well …..no thanks. Never judge anyone till you’ve walked a mile in their shoes springs to mind. Pain is a major limiter to anything so at the very least I hope your doctors can find a solution to that. Sending big squeezy hugs x
So my day of fun and activity today will involve emptying the dishwasher and tidying the kitchen with of course a trip to the bin to add some pizzazz to the day. Oh and another charity bag came through the door so that will keep any boredom at bay. Time to tackle the cupboards in the spare room and a shoe cull.
Enjoy your Friday everyone

Good morning everyone and thanks for the start nmlc
Enjoy your belated birthday celebrations Scarlet x
Glad Sparkle was well-behaved TA 😊
dp1 – so happy that your little cat came home 😊
Calm and bright here today after yesterday’s wet and wild weather. We had a few spots of snow too late afternoon and it was bitterly cold. WFH today and I have some mandatory training to do if the system behaves.
DH is off to Wales for the weekend – wild camping and walking. Rather him than me. He is taking our car so I will make do with DS2s little runabout. Quite a fun car to drive compared to our SUV. I have a 3-way whatsapp call at 5pm, DS2 is cooking for his lady friend later, so I just need to sort something for me. Face mask, bath and early night on the cards.
Hugs to all those struggling with health or life woes. You are in my thoughts.
