I think you have to give an explanation of why you are asking for the change so you could explain what has happened.0 -
An employer/pension payer should only use a tax code notice for 2022:23 from the first payday after 5 April 2022.
It would be very unusual for them to use it for an earlier tax year.1 -
Hello all. I contacted the HMRC by phone just over a month ago to sort my issue out (i.e. to correct the completely wrong pension income that they had somehow thought I was going to receive this financial year) and was hopeful that my tax codes would be corrected so that the max tax code would be the basic rate tax it should be.Unfortunately, although when I login to my tax account the tax codes show as being correct, the companies actually paying me the income are still using the incorrect tax codes. e.g. the latest two payments came in this morning and they have both used D0 instead of the BR and 633T tax codes that they should be.I'm going to ring them next week, but wondered whether there was anyone who might have an idea as to why I seem to have had these types of problems over the last few years where updates during the tax year don't seem to get through the system - e.g. in 2020-21 the income from one of my pensions remained on emergency tax all year, the same happened to another pension last year. And those incomes didn't actually appear in my tax account until the next financial year came around.I did mention these problems on my call with them last month, but they didn't seem to have any idea on why it may have happened.Note also that I've also only received one tax code notice over the last few years, and nothing since my phone call, whereas Mrs Notepad made a slight change to hers earlier this month and has since received a further notice reflecting this. Many thanks for any suggestions.0
