How to webchat HMRC re incorrect income estimate for next year

in Cutting tax
Good evening all,
I received my 2022-23 tax code today and to say it's been rather mucked up is an understatement. On logging into my personal tax account this evening I've found that the cause is due to hmrc estimating that one of my pensions is for some reason going to pay me 4 x this year's amount which has decimated my Personal Allowance.
Via my tax account I've found that I am allowed to modify next years estimated income for one of my pensions, but not the one that I want to. So as I can't find any other way to modify that particular pension does anyone know how to contact them via webchat as I prefer that to phoning. I've tried the various 'contact us' pages but can't find anything there.
Many thanks.

That sounds a little odd re not being able to update one (PAYE) pension.
Sadly webchat has been suspended.

https://www.litrg.org.uk/latest-news/news/220118-hmrc-webchat-updateAh thank you - I hope webchat does come back as it has been helpful in the past.Re 'odd behaviour' - yes, there seems to be some very strange things going on in my tax account. A year or so ago I got in contact with them when I wanted to reclaim some tax but the pension income wasn't actually showing on my tax account ; at that time they said something about an indicator having been left on from a previous repayment and it should have been switched off. I wonder if it's still been left on as some of my other income is now missing and values not updated.Re 'updating estimated income' I've just found out that clicking on the update pension button of the one pension I can modify takes me through to https://www.tax.service.gov.uk/check-income-tax/update-income/next-year/income/5/start and by modifying the 5 to 6 I've found that it takes me through to the journey start for modifying the pension I do want to change - I might go through that and see what happens.

Could you maybe calculate what your tax code should be, and then ask for it to be changed via your personal tax account ?
I think you have to give an explanation of why you are asking for the change so you could explain what has happened.

I couldn't see a way to ask for a change to next years tax code (I think it was just this years, which is correct), but I'll have another look when I get the chance hopefully later today.Albermarle said:Could you maybe calculate what your tax code should be, and then ask for it to be changed via your personal tax account ?

I think the op means one of two things,
that the high income estimate has taken their adjusted net income over £100k, reducing their Personal Allowance
Or the high income has impacted something else and they have got confused between their Personal Allowance and their tax code allowances
Either way once a more accurate estimate is provided a new tax code can be calculated using that information.1 -
It's the first - i.e. the estimated income is over £100,000 and personal allowance is way below what it should be.Dazed_and_C0nfused said:I think the op means one of two things,

I've got a similar (but much smaller) issue in that my tax code assumes that I will get the "working from home" tax relief next year. I won't because - as I understand it - this would only apply if my employer tells me that I must work from home and next year it will be my choice to.
So it's a small error and I assumed that I could just tell them via the web chat (but it's not available) or an online form - but these only work the current tax year. So now I've got to brave the phone lines!0 -
That could well be correct . However if you correct it in April ( it takes a couple of weeks to go through I think) then in the following months it should auto correct for any overpayment in April , by paying less tax in a subsequent month . AFAIKNotepad_Phil said:

As above you could just wait until the tax year starts and correct the small error on line . Much easier than hanging on the phones.Plasticman said:I've got a similar (but much smaller) issue in that my tax code assumes that I will get the "working from home" tax relief next year.
