Alexa keeps on adding an old switch and confusing things!

Options
I had a cheap smart switch to control my bedroom light, got it in Jan 2021, the app I used was eWeLink
it worked fine until I got a new router around sept 21, but then it just started disconnecting randomly and took ages to reconnect and would then inexplicably just stop working, so I upgraded to a different system where I could control more than one light/socket from a hub (it's called clicksmart and uses zigbee protocol)
So I removed the eWelink switch in the bedroom and fitted the clicksmart one and gave it the same name "bedroom light",
At the same time I fitted a new light above my desk and called "desk light"
and I also got a socket which connects to it and called that "socket"
desk light and socket have worked flawlessly in the 4 months I've had the system, never had an issue.
but bedroom light is always a problem, at first I just noticed sometimes it would often take 5 seconds to respond when I say to alexa to turn on or off the bedroom light, but then I noticed a pattern of every couple of weeks it says "bedroom light isn't responding, please check it's network connection and power supply"
and the problem seems to be, alexa keeps adding the old switch back onto the list of devices, and obviously can't connect to it as it's in the bin!
when this happens, I can still go directly to the click smart app and control the bedroom light, it always works fine.
I did try stopping deleting the old switch and instead renaming it as "rubbish do not use" thinking that it would stop adding it again as bedroom light, but it doesn't, bloody thing keeps coming back.
this morning it did it again, I searched on google for answers but all I could find was to go to the manufacturers app and disable the device, So I re-downloaded the app which I had deleted and I tried that but I don't have my password for the old app, and there doesn't seem to be a way to reset it either.
after some more fumbling around in the alexa app looking for solutions, I found a list of skills, and there was one names "eWeLink" so I have now deleted that and am hoping for the best but if it comes back I'm out of ideas?
