Pros & cons of adding spouse in house purchase

I am in the process of buying a house.
I just like to know whether it is better to add my wife's name as the joint owner.
The mortgage will be entirely in my name though.
Is there any advantage/disadvantage of adding spouse as joint owner?
Except the obvious disadvantage in case of any separation later

Happiness is buying an item and then not checking its price after a month to discover it was reduced further.

if you place her on the deeds then she will also need to be on the Mortgage.
as for advantages, that is entirly your choice as a family.
Also I felt it was benefical that it was under her name in the event that something happens to me or may be tax reasons further down the line....0 -
I think if you are married she would be entitled to half of your home anyway should the worst happen. Is she happy not to have her name on the deeds?£4000 challenge
