Considered one of the great cinematic geniuses, Charlie Chaplin came from humble beginnings. Born in the poverty stricken slums of Victorian Bermondsey, just a stones throw away from where our brewery stands today. In a career that spanned 75 years Charlie’s silent films and famous ‘tramp’ persona took him to the very pinnacle of Hollywood celebrity.

With his iconic bowler hat, toothbrush moustache and a strut that could only come from our neck of the woods, he is a true great in the pantheon of world cinema. Charlie, we salute you, and if you were around today we’d have a cold beer waiting for you at the tap room!
