Of course you dont pay it even if you loseAdamc said:Dang it - the wife has sent them a pic of the old permit explaining what lead to the issue. Do we now complain rather than appeal? Or do I just pay it?1 -
Only pay if a judge tells you to.
You never know how far you can go until you go too far.1 -
Yes they have as far as I can see.D_P_Dance said:Have you read this?

I do feel aggrieved as she would have paid to renew her permit had she received the reminder like everyone else did. And she has since renewed it. I just don't know if a court would see it as her responsibility rather than the hospitals or parking company's.KeithP said:Then surely it is a case for the hospital to resolve.
They changed her email address but failed to notify that change to whoever issues the permit renewal emails.
A failure of hospital processes / joined up processes.0 -
Sorry to ask but this is really unfortunate - why did the driver appeal? We were advising you from day one and that was the last thing to do (apart from paying it, of course).Adamc said:Dang it - the wife has sent them a pic of the old permit explaining what lead to the issue. Hopefully they will offer to settle at twenty quid. Anything else is a complete 'no'.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

They didn't send this info in an appeal. They sent it to an onsite APCOA manager's email.Coupon-mad said:

I may still be able to appeal. Is it detrimental to do this early? As if I have to pay I don't want to pay more than £25. Or is it essential to wait until day 20 something?
The APCOA manager on site said they couldn't help me to overturn the PCN but advised me to appeal (which we have yet to do).
Is it worth adding anything regarding the issues regarding my wife getting a permit or is it best to stick to the template and not mention the key reason the permit was not renewed?
Also can I take words out of the template such as 'predatory'?0 -
The appeals form requires a response for driver details - is it sufficient to put not identified?Would the same appeal work in future cases (which I hope can be avoided).0

Just do the templated appeal. A single ticket should not generate this number of questions.
It's simple follow the newbies and stop thinking about paying them

Yes and yes (always, dead easy to beat APCOA every time). Appeal as keeper.Adamc said:The appeals form requires a response for driver details - is it sufficient to put not identified?Would the same appeal work in future cases (which I hope can be avoided).
Not a single person here would pay APCOA nor tell a new poster to pay. They never sue anyone and never use the POFA. APCOA are a really benign parking firm and they'll probably give up at POPLA stage as long as the driver stays away from it!
A Keeper appeal wins 100% of the time v APCOA and we often say there is no need to even start a thread about those PPCs who choose not to bother with the POFA. It can all be done by appeal then POPLA templates that the NEWBIES FAQs thread already has.
They can't hold keepers liable. Their bad.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
