SMART METER QUESTIONS

Part of the Furniture First Post Combo Breaker
Hello
I live in a 1950s built house. Both my meters are in the hallway

The electric meter is in a wall mounted metal cupboard with a metal door while the gas meter is on the floor in a metal cupboard with a wooden door. Also I have no power points in the hall.

Does all this mean I cannot have smart meters. Also with regards to the smart meter displays I cannot have them in any other room as all available power points are in use.

Any advice please. Thanks

Smart meters are self powered, the electric one from the mains (before it is measured, so costs you nothing) and the gas one has a very long life battery. You don't have to use the in-home display but you can a get a 3 or 4 way adaptor from Poundland for probably slightly more than a quid. They were still a pound pre-Covid/Brexit and everything else that has gone wrong.

The metal cupboard might attenuate the signal but they can fit an additional antenna.
