Hello, looking for some advice on the following situation. I've always been known by a shortened form of my middle name which I have used for my bank account, credit card and is on the electoral register. My credit score under this name is great. However, I'm going to apply for a mortgage and need to use the full name on my passport for this, but the credit record for this name is nonexistant, i.e. if I search for it on Experian then it fails to identify me.
Ideally, I would like a credit/ID check on my full name to link to my existing credit file. So far I have (very recently):
Thanks for any help!
Ideally, I would like a credit/ID check on my full name to link to my existing credit file. So far I have (very recently):
- Changed name on bank account to full name.
- Changed name on credit card to full name.
- Called to update my name on the electoral roll. They have acted on this but apparently it will not come into effect until April.
- Asked Experian to add my full name as an alias.
Thanks for any help!

Once the names are connected by each of the CRAs, that's all you need to do. Don't worry about the freefall of your score once this happens.
But do check all three files.1 -
No-one in the UK has a credit score, the gimmick number you get is only seen by you. Lenders score you based on your credit history, using their own systems0
