Credit Card Fraud? Please Help

I received 2 OTP text earlier, which basically say, ""Your OTP: ##### for your registration request at DATE TIME on your Aqua card ending ####. Contact us if this wasn't you.

Now, they don't appear to allow non-customers to contact them, as when I ring, it says my number is in their system and asked for my DOB... when I said my DOB it said it wasn't recognised and just asking me over and over and over again - it's impossible for me get in touch with their fraud department, as the loop starts again.



Any advice?

     To me looks like someone might gave input the mobile number wrong, hence you getting the txt snd not the card holder 
     have you tried online chat etc if they offer it

    Thanks for the reply.

    I've tried everything Marcia - they won't let me contact them on my phone, as they see me as a customer and want my DOB.

    There have no online chat from what I can find.
  • It doesn't sound like anything to worry about. The person concerned will eventually twig and correct their number.

     If you want them to delete your number and check for fraud make a complaint

    I've managed to get through so waiting - not sure if my DOB was accepted, or incorrect... I've been on hold for 10 minutes, but will continue to wait.

    Am I covered if somebody sets up a card in my name?

    Spoken to someone - they say they can't find my number on their system, or address, yet it's the registration process where the OTP refers to - somebody trying to register a new account.

    Covered how? Someone has made a mistake in entering their number. It could be fraud but if so, it would require them to have your address which would normally point at being someone close to home

    Cheers. I just thought it was strange that the automated line said my number was in their system and asked for my DOB, yet I managed to speak to 2 people and both say my number isn't in their system - also checked my Post Code. So that's what made me concerned.
