It's not very accurate to say there are only two main types of hybrid (Point 1). There's also the Self Charging Hybrid e.g. the Prius.Another is the Mild Hybrid. Most new ICE cars are now MHs but this is often overlooked because its battery power cannot be used on its own.0

Thanks for your help,
MSE AndrewThe government has an article on EVs that cover a few of these point and more. I can’t link to it as a newb but do think it is a worthwhile addition to the MSE article.gov website: government/publications/electric-vehicles-costs-charging-and-infrastructure/electric-vehicles-costs-charging-and-infrastructure
(Disclosure: I was one of those polled regarding EVs, a very happy owner)

Lease car firms tend to tax road vehicles and then pass the charge onto customers. Lex who my electric car is through have told me they have made a policy decision that they wont renew the car tax now before the deadline, but will wait until it is due (mine is due in May!), pay £195 and then charge that to me.Fluffykins said:Martins exhortation to renew your EV tax before the end of March isn't limited to those with tax expiring in a couple of specific months. As EVs are currently £0 VED rate it makes perfect sense to re-tax irrespective of when your VED runs out. You CAN do it. You'll just need the reference number on your V5 registration doc. My tax expires in December. I re-taxed successfilly earlier this month. Go figure.
I wonder if Martin and the team have picked up on this and could perhaps contact them to see if they can rethink this policy?0
