    pre price rise  "oh we got a hot tub - that's why our electricity use is up!"  
    post price rise "oh we rid of the hot tub as with the increase in prices we didn't think we could continue to run it"
    What if the OP has a smart meter this wouldn't work as the meter most likely sends either 30 minute or daily usage back to a third party and thento the supplier even some SMETS 1 meters can now be read by other suppliers, like my SMETS 1 meters. 
    Someone please tell me what money is
